Prior to founding his own law firm specializing in Trusts & Estates, Elder Law, Business and International Law, Vlad Portnoy had previously served as a General Counsel in a New York branch of a European global marketing company. Mr. Portnoy is certified by the New York State Court System as a Russian-speaking court translator.
Mr. Portnoy is a member of the Elder Law and Trusts & Estates sections of New York State Bar Association, New York County Lawyers Association and Brooklyn Bar Association, American Bar Association's Estate Planners' and Administrators' Section, and New York City Bar Association's Trusts & Estate Committee. He is a former Secretary for New York City Bar's Committee on Legal Problems of the Aging (Elder Law). Vlad is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He serves a Board member for a Russian Speaking Business Attorneys of New York (RUSBAN), and Carroll Gardens Association, a historic affordable housing and community development organization in Brooklyn, New York. Through frequent lectures on estate planning and elder law, and by contributing articles to various English and Russian language print and online publications, Vlad Portnoy aims to educate the community on the aspects of estate planning, asset protection and government benefit entitlement programs.
